Krishnas Passing.

Hare Krishna All,

I have heard and read much of Lord Krishnas birthdate and pastimes, but very little of his passing this material body, when, how, how old etc, come to think of it, of all my years on the fringe of the Iskcon movement, i have never heard anyone talk about it,this topic should get a good responce.

Srila Prabhupada often uses the example of the rising and setting of the sun. We see the sun rise in the morning and then see the sun set in the evening. Although the sun seems to disappear - this is only because our material eyes can no longer see it. Just because the sun has set does mean it no longer extists. The sun is continuing it's travels around the globe, rising and setting in the vision of other countries.

The appearance and disappearance of Lord Krishna is like the rising and setting of the sun. When Lord Krishna decided to end His pastimes on this planet - He only disappeared from our material vision.

Although Lord Krishna appeared on this material planet and performed many pastimes within the vision of the living entities here - neither His body or His pastimes are material. Lord Krsna speaks of this in Bhagavad Gita and Prabhupada's purports help us to understand this very clearly.

At all times and ages Lord Krishna is performing His eternal pastimes on different planets in different universes. The Lord's pastimes are never-ending.
