View Full Version : Do we really LOVE KRISHNA ?
-Assume-
Say, tomorrow if we all, the followers of krishna come to know that krishna is not the supreme then will we all divert from krishna and shall start following the one who is supreme ?
Hare Krishna,
Are you having doubts? Do you doubt the scriptures and acaryas? Where do you feel speculating on such a topic would be beneficial?

Matter is not a doubt.. The matter is about the belonging, loving and respecting come what may, you will stick or not !!
Ask this from your heart and be honest. Your devotion might become stronger or weaker.
Sorry but your original question in this thread does not make sense to me. It appears that you are having doubts about the supremacy of the Lord. If this is not the case then forgive my misunderstanding.
Hare Krsna.
No doubts about Krishna and his supremacy, No doubts at all.. lets not just deviate the topic.. The answer to the topic can be mere yes or no.

Sorry but I do not see this as a yes or no topic. There is no one above Lord Krsna - Never was and never will be anyone above Him.
I bow out of this thread completely now as I see it as just speculation - one of those "What if...." topics that go around in circles never getting anywhere.
No need to "bow" just in front of a mere thread. I am not making you circle around anything at all. It is encouraged that you should question and ponder, and that is what I am doing !

George Harrison lyrics -
If I needed someone to love
You're the one that I'd be thinking of
If I needed someone
Won't you please
Oh won't you
Give me love
Give me love
Give me peace on earth
Give me light
Give me life
Keep me free from birth
Give me hope
Help me cope, with this heavy load
Trying to, touch and reach you with,
heart and soul
OM M M M M M M M M M M M M M
M M M My Lord . . .
PLEASE take hold of my hand, that
I might understand you
I look at you all see the love there that's sleeping
While my guitar gently weeps
I look at the floor and I see it needs sweeping
Still my guitar gently weeps
I don't know why nobody told you how to unfold your love
I don't know how someone controlled you
They bought and sold you.
I look at the world and I notice it's turning
While my guitar gently weeps
With every mistake we must surely be learning
Still my guitar gently weeps
I don't know how you were diverted
You were perverted too
I don't know how you were inverted
No one alerted you.
I look at you all see the love there that's sleeping
While my guitar gently weeps
Look at you all . . .
Still my guitar gently weeps.
What I feel, I can't say
But my love is there for you any time of day
But if it's not love that you need
Then I'll try my best to make everything succeed
Tell me, what is my life without your love
Tell me, who am I without you, by my side
Oh tell me, what is my life without your love
Tell me, who am I without you, by my side

i miss the old jukebox though..
Srila Prabhupada was very fond of George Harrison and vice versa. A lot of people were introduced to the maha-mantra thru George's music.
Prabhupada considered George a very good devotee.

He left his body the same year i was introduced to Soho Street.
The Tribute to George Harrison Concert is really amazing, i consider that buying the dvd is a kind of donation, a very good donation, and the return is incredible, Jaya George Harrison!

thank the one who gave me such a beautful name :)
George Harrison made some very important and lasting contributions to Prabhupada's mission to bring Krishna Consciousness to the west.
I am considering buying the tribute myself.
You go to the Soho temple. I think I remember you mentioning this before. Gorgeous deities there!
I have their little temple song book from there. Do they still have it? I use it a lot in my own worship here.

i really think , you asked a very good question dear!
dont you think that we believe in the supreme power than the appearance or the name...........i accept yr question and its not the doubt at all....
we belive in the word,,,,Lord, God, Allah.....and the names following that.....do they really matter....??????? and if they do?.....remember....there is only one God!

Radhe Krishna,
Yes there is only one God. But there is nothing wrong in perceiving him to be Krishna and u can support ur perception through scriptural backup.
Similarly one can perceive him to be shiva, ganesha, shakthi, surya, vishnu and can support the perception through scriptural backup.
Radhe krishna
I fully agree with Sri Varadraj Sarma. There is only one God. In fact, the whole creation is the manifestation of God. Names are secondary. The form is secondary. You may call him by any name. You may even choose not to call him by any name i.e. "Nirakar Brahma - Formless God".
If you love Krishna, please test yourself by the virtues what Lord Krishna wants to see in his devotee. These virtues are narrated in detail in Chapter-12 of the Geeta.
However, in my opinion, there is a chance of getting confused, if you choose other Gods. Why ? The path shown by Lord Krishna in Geeta is the path with least confusion and can be easily treaded by even simple people. You needn't go to extremism in your quest for the truth. The message given by Lord Krishna is for everyone. If you read other sacred texts, you will find the difference. In fact, some such texts try to show that God is so much unforgiving that "if someone is a devotee to some other God ( Idol worshippers & the like), the God would put him in hell for ever, like Allah in Koran. Similarly, one gets baffled to think that how God can be so unforgiving to sons of Adam & Eve just for a small mistake of their Grand-grand...grand...parents. There are many such Gods in Hinduism also. How one's sins can be washed away by taking a dip in the Ganga or just by fasting on a particular day or just by chanting a particular mantra ? Mind it, all religions have produced some highly enlightened people. So, my aim is not to show any religion superior or inferior to any other. If followed in true spirit, they all lead to same enlightenment. But the confusion is high, the chances of falling down, going stray is much higher. God has revealed himself in various forms to the mankind in various degrees of "godliness". In the form of Lord Krishna he is nearly 100%.
Chanting the Name is a way to keep youself fully devoted to him but you become nearer to God by following the path shown by him in the Geeta. By following his path we can Know Him; we can know ourselves. Then there won't by any confusion. He says, "You will see first youself in all beings and thereafter you will see all beings in Me." So, follow the path. See Him yourself.
Om Shanti, Shanti, Shanti !

Hare Krsna.
Nah, the meaning of his question is this:
If we were confronted with an "absolute truth" that appeared to prove Krsna Consciousness to be "not quite as true" as this "new" truth, would we diverge or remain true to the philosophy?
A perfectly valid question, really, since a few hundred years ago the Earth *WAS* flat. But now it's not. Funny, that! How something was as good as truth one minute, and the next, something came along and blew that theory out of the water. What about your beliefs before becoming a vaisnava? Did some of them differ to what you believe now? Things can always change, it's the nature of the world.
At the end of the day, it depends on which truth seems truer to you. If something made more sense to me than the philosophy, I would definitely persue it, bringing along the things I have learned from this philosophy with me. When you have the mentality of "THIS" being 100% true, and "THAT" being 100% untrue, you are more or less a brainwashed cult member. If you can't think for yourself and be critical, you are as good as dead. Humans are imperfect, all humans, whether they're gurus, spiritual masters, whatever... THE HUMAN SHELL IS IMPERFECT, as are our thoughts, and everything else. I believe you should extract what makes sense to you from whatever source you might come across, rather than consciously decide that "every last detail in this philosophy is the absolute truth".
