TRANSLATION

Whatever state of being one remembers when he quits his body, that state he will attain without fail.
PURPORT

The process of changing one's nature at the critical moment of death is here explained. How can one die in the proper state of mind? Maharaja Bharata thought of a deer at the time of death and so was transferred to that form of life. However, as a deer, Maharaja Bharata could remember his past activities. Of course the cumulative effect of the thoughts and actions of one's life influences one's thoughts at the moment of death; therefore the actions of this life determine one's future state of being. If one is transcendentally absorbed in Krsna's service, then his next body will be transcendental (spiritual), not physical. Therefore the chanting of Hare Krsna is the best process for successfully changing one's state of being to transcendental life.

I can't agree more. Chanting the Lord's holy name is the best way to purify ones own existence. Anyone who starts chanting will automatically be attracted to the path of God consciusness, and thus God Himself.

Hare Krishna!

Hare Krishna,

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

The more we chant - the more purified our hearts become. The more purified we become the more we think about the Supreme Lord and want to serve Him.

Thus, the dirt and garbage in our hearts is replaced by the nectar and sweetness of Bhakti!

"The Absolute Truth is Sri Krishna, and loving devotion to Sri Krishna exhibited in pure love is achieved through congregational chanting of the holy name, which is the essence of all bliss." (Cc; Adi-Lila 1; Chapter 1; verse 96)

I have heard that if you aren't chanting then you aren't following guru's instructions and if you aren't following guru's instructions then you are not a disciple of your guru but a cheater. I agree.

That is correct.

Plus Nama-aparadha, chanting with offences. Even if a devotee is on lowest platform [Kanishta-adhikari] is maybe smoking, due to still being conditioned or some other reason, if we deem it ok to offend such an devotee then we can fall-down. Offend means like being Critical for the sake of it, and not being merciful in our hearts, that I wish this devotee will change. Jaya Prabhuada!

it's easy. just because someone is trying and has external 'faults' and seems to chant with 'offense' it is unfair to find fault in them, Srila Prabhupada asked us to tolerate the mistakes made by those who are trying.
It's not easy though to say that everyone who poses as a devotee is without fault, and i find this is a difficult problem to deal with quite often..
could anyone help me with this?

Hare Krshna,
Gauranga.

"Making sense" has nothing to do with it. It takes so many pious activities through many births to even come to the point of chanting. A living entity who chants the Holy Name even offensively, who is taking the Lord's mercy, in spite of so many difficulties is to be held in high esteem.

The humble sage, by virtue of true knowledge, sees with equal vision a learned and gentle brahmana, a cow, an elephant, a dog and a dog-eater [outcaste].

The uttama-adhikari sees Krsna everywhere, even an ant, not to mention a soul in the process of becoming Krsna conscious.

and i hope you change too,she offended no-one' she just spoke the truth, and to do otherwise would be violence. if you accept a Guru and then disobey him, then you are a cheat. do you want this dear devotee to change to ur way of thinking?

Radhe Krishna,

Radhe Krishna to all saha krishna bhakthas. Very interesting discussion. But let politeness and sincerety be maintained.

I found following aspects in the discussion - interesting -

Admission of an indiscipline - carrying on of a prescribed routine - Nama japa. An indiscipline is per se bad. But atleast admitting to the fact that one is indisciplined is the first step to tune self.

Here there are two commissions. one is of nama japa and another is of indiscipline. The simple thing as i understand - continue with the good thing of doing nama japa and get rid of evil thing at the earliest possible. This can be possible by associating with satsangha. Being in the association of people who do krishna bhakthi. In that environment u can not but only concentrate on god and this recharge remains for quite a long time not permitting u to commit bad things.

Radhe krishna
