Hare Krishna all.

I had been searching for the longest time (about 3 years now) for a common place to meet and talk with devotees. When i found this site i was so exicited because i've FINALLY found what i was looking for. But after reading through all the messages i have two complaints. 1.Why is everything so impersonal and serious here? 2.Why is the most ammount of posting on politics such as the Ritvik issue?? Cant we just have a place where we can really meet the PEOPLE behind the comments instead of aruging about petty issues??? I was hoping i could come here to get some inspiration to get my spiritual life back on track but all i really got from reading the postings was a flask back of main stream ISKCON and how off the topic people can get at times and that was not very inspiring in the least. So if there is any soul out there who is willing to talk with me about honest problems one faces in this spritual path please write to me. I'm in desperate need of the warm touch of a devotees heart.

Hare Krishna,

Salona, I agree with you, that Krishna is all about fun, happiness and peace inside. Let the people who are talking about "ritvik" keep talking, because they to me are distracted souls, who have finally lost the real purpose of life and the real love for Krishna as well ( don't take me wrong, but it is my strong perception )

I love Krishna and have felt his presence always near to me. I too have many questions and would like to explore the "real" path of spiritualism. Lets get going..

Keep loving krishna - ilovekrishna

Dear Salona,

With my experience on the net,I've found that it's mainly for those who have nothing to do!!!The serious devotees are too busy serving Krsna...
But I think it can be also a great way to communicate in this modern world and spread the message.Let me know how you're doing and what have been your problems in the past.

I concur =)

People can get too caught up in maya, too caught up in rules and technicalities, and completely lose sight of the goal of Krishna.

Prabhupada once said - "Dont think of Maya. Think of Krsna"...

"Sri Krsnadasa Kaviraja, the author of Caitanya-caritamrta, says that all good qualities become manifest in the body of a Vaisnava and that only by the presence of these good qualities can one distinguish a Vaisnava form a non-Vaisnava. Krsnadasa Kaviraja lists the twenty-six good qualities of a Vaisnava: "(1) He is very kind to everyone. (2) He does not make anyone his enemy. (3) He is truthful. (4) He is equal to everyone. (5) No one can find any fault in him. (6) He is magnanimous. (7) He is mild. [8] He is always clean. (9) He is without possessions. (10) He works for everyone's benefit. (11) He is very peaceful. (12) He is always surrendered to Krsna. (13) He has no material desires. (14) He is very meek. (15) He is steady. (16) He controls his senses. (17) He does not eat more than required. [18] He is not influenced by the Lord's illusory energy. (19) He offers respect to everyone. (20) He does not desire any respect for himself. (21) He is very grave. (22) He is merciful. (23) He is friendly. (24) He is poetic. (25) He is expert. (26) He is silent."

Here we have a perfect description of the completely surrendered devotee. With such definitive information and criteria available, there is no room for speculating as to who is truly surrendered, and who is not. The good qualities of the demigods are automatically displayed in the character of a pure devotee.

Please note quality [21] 'He is very grave'.
Gravity as I understand it is a spiritual quality. It is depth. It is like silence. The Absolute Truth is deep. That doesn't mean one shouldn't have fun and make jokes. Prabhupada had a wonderful sense of humor.
But too much 'goofing off' can lead to a trivial attitude towards the importance of our engagement in devotional service - to liberate ourselves from the material entanglement and be with Krsna in his abode

Yes, lets talk of Krishna not maya. I think there is a place for the political discussions but mostly I would prefer Krishna Katha. I once asked some devotees to please give me some association via emails but got nothing. They only wanted to talk about Iskcon is bad, IRM is good, and vice versa and this org and that group etc etc. I mean no offence to those kind of devotees and all who sail in her but for my spiritual life to progress I need to hear about Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna........... and some !

And if anyone is brave enough to come on here and admit the problems they are having in spiritual life and can share how they surmount them or how someone they know did this or did that and got benefit etc (no, I don't mean social security benefits!), or are willing to ask for help themselves, that's good preaching for all of us. Either asking a question or giving an answer, if it's related to Krishna, it's preaching. Is that right? Like vimana has kindly told us, Srila Prabhupada said, Don't think of Maya, think of Krishna. Why? Because talking or thinking about an illness won't cure it, but taking the medicine will.

We need to get ourselves and others back to Home, back to Godhead, back to the transcendental abodes of spiritual bliss and Krishna!

I always remember the best preaching I saw was when devotees were cool. All this ranting and raving that some do and criticizing, well, I think that just puts people off and that's sad because Krishna loves us soooo much, He wants us to be attracted to Him, not put off. I don't wish to cause offence but I think with all due respect, if we are here in this material world, this prison with cages of flesh and bone, then how can we ever point the finger and wag the head at others? Yes there are grave issues about Iskcon and so on but let's all just preach nicely, please? Make Krishna as attractive as possible with your words and deeds. Don't worry too much about what others are doing. Just get on with it. This life will soon be gone. Those you meet will soon be gone. There's not much time. Let's enjoy Krishna and share our pleasure, and in doing so surely we further our spiritual advancement and that of others?

If the doctors at the spiritual hospitals either don't know what they are doing or they do, so what. Chant the Holy Names of the Maha Mantra Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare, Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare. That's the medicine. And offer your food and eat the prasad, follow the 4 regulative principles, read BG every day (at least one verse) and when you've finished it go back to the beginning and start again. Pray to Krishna and ask for guidance. Come on here and talk about Krishna. And if you can do it, distribute books and prasad. And if you can do it, be a good example to others about how great devotional life is. At all times just try to be a nice devotee and be happy.

Tell me people, have I just said too much? I am very fallen, believe me I really know it, but I have to try and do my bit isn't it?

Chant Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare, Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare. That's the medicine, and I need it in elephant size tablets!

I also am looking for support in my quest for more knowledge of Krishna. I am new to Krishna consciousness, and have no one in my town to share this with. Or consult with. So I am hoping that I might find some fellowship here also. My knowledge is so little, that I would appreciate the wisdom of more learned souls.

The nearest temple is about 50 miles away, so regular visits are out of the question. So I continue the Read the Bhagavad-Gita, and gain more knowledge, but even though we should not be attatched to this orld, everyone needs a teacher now and then.

I look forward to conversing with you, and hope you can help me on my quest. I try to stay ever focused on Krishna, and let his love show through in my deeds. He will guide me

One Devotee has always been in my mind as someone that
I would like to emulate. I don't even know his name. I mean
I do, but I forgot it. I want to tell you a little about him.

This Devotee has never uttered a word to me.
This Devotee lives and works out of Alachua Florida.
This Devotee works tirelessly for KRSNA.
This Devotee Sings magnanimously for KRSNA, only.
This Devotee smiles at me whenever I see him
I have never witnessed this Devotee chastising anybody

If I were to surrender to some living GURU who I trusted
could deliver me from Material Suffering, I would choose

Nagaraja Dasa

Thank you Prabhu for teaching me to be quiet and to
work hard for the Lord. I appreciate your help and kindness.
