Tamarind

Tamarindus indica
syn T.officinalis
Fam Leguminosae

Believed to originate in East Africa, tamarind now grows extensively throughout the Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia and the West Indies. Tamarind means ‘date of India’ In Hindu mythology, tamarind is associated with the wedding of Sri Krishna which is celebrated by a feast in November. In Victorian times, the British in Goa kept a tamarind in one ear when venturing into the native quarter to keep themselves free from harassment because the locals believed the fresh pods were inhabited by malevolent demons. This earned the colonials the nickname ‘Lugimlee’ or ‘tamarind heads’, and it has stuck to this day.
Tamarind is an excellent brass and copper polish. Take a slab of tamarind, sprinkle on some salt, wet it and rub it directly on the object to be polished.

also it is an excellent source of lithium, known to ease manic depression, take a look at this

Lithium content of food:
The results of analysis of various articles of food are shown in [Table - 1]. Amongst the various leafy and non-leafy vegetables which were analysed, coriander leaves, tamarind, tomato and garlic had high amounts of lithium; while onions, green chillies, and vegetables like cauliflower had little lithium. Spices such as nutmeg, cummin seeds and coriander seeds had high lithium content. The lithium content was high in various cereals and pulses like pearl-millet, black-gram, and chawli seeds; while rice and wheat contained very little lithium.
Lithium content was also found to be high in rock salt and commonly used crude sea salt as compared to refined table salt.
The highest amount of lithium (12 µg/gm) was detected in tobacco.
The lithium content of water varied according to the source. Tap water supplied to Bombay city had a low lithium content as compared to spring water from a nearby village which had twice the amount of lithium, probably because the water supplied to Bombay is mostly soft rain water which collects in catchment reservoirs and contains less minerals.

There is also a gem stone called Lithium Quartz which can be placed in water for a day. It will purify the water as well as activating the lithium in the water.

How wuch lithium should we consume? My guess is as much as possible,
but if we're cutting out tabacco and garlic from our intake, i suggest raising the other ingredients such as Tamarind, which is a delicious taste and is great for making an offering of Prasadam.
