When I was 18 years old I hitch hiked from Ireland to India, travelled on the deck of a boat from Kuwait to Bombay.

I then went to the 1965 Kumbha Mela at Allahabad and met a typical holy man of India, a simple loving swami who gave me the Bhagavat Gita.

"Just live your life according to Lord Krsna's teachings." he told me.

And so through him I met Lord Krsna.

"Always think of Me and become My devotee. Worship Me and offer your homage unto Me. Thus you will come to Me without fail. I promise you this because you are My very dear friend.

"Abandon all varieties of religion and just surrender unto Me. I shall deliver you from all sinful reaction. Do not fear." Lord Krsna

Today, alas, many souls coming to Krishna come through religious institutions and miss the real teachings.

Be aware of this major trap. Everything is not always as it appears.

One of my young sons attended "gurukul" in Vrindavan and Mayapur for several years. In a dream Srila Prabhupada appeared to him and just said, "There are too many sitting on my seat, there is no room for me, what have I done"? he then asked me what it meant?

"kali yuga gets in everywhere my son."

As soon as any sweet swami gathers a following, organized religion follows. The old diehards believe everything, the majority suspect everything and the young know everything.

Soon we will all be young again.
